DISTANCE LEARNING
During the past three years NFA has participated in a distance learning partnership with several other area high schools. Students take classes in an interactive closed circuit television environment, in Room 6205 in Latham. Courses have been offered in Poetry as well as Tolerance and Diversity in Shakespearean Literature. NFA students participate online with students from Lyme/Old Lyme High School, Bacon Academy (Colchester), and Hale-Ray High School (East Haddam). The course offerings vary from semester to semester. Students need to be very organized and highly motivated to participate in the distance learning classes since the classes normally meet five days per week and occasionally conflict with our schedule. Students interested in this innovative medium for taking enrichment classes should contact their guidance counselor or Mr. Lynch, in the library, for more information.
