Each year members of the 10th, 25th, and 50th reunion classes have the exciting opportunity to designate their gifts in support of a special reunion gift to be presented to the Academy.
Solicitation for this reunion gift is in lieu of an Annual Fund request for the reunion year and, unless otherwise specified by the donor, all gifts made during the reunion year are earmarked for the reunion gift project rather than the Annual Fund. The Reunion Committee decides what program it would like the class to support based upon input from the Class Agent(s) and the Foundation Office. Reunion giving history, class giving history, and class affinity for a specific program are factors that should be considered when selecting a reunion gift project.
Fundraising for Class Gift projects can happen on two different levels:
- Through the Class Agent(s) and the Norwich Free Academy Foundation Office.
- Through the Reunion Committee during the Reunion itself.
Funds raised at the Reunion dinner and presented to the Academy, either during the Reunion or at a later date, can be designated to the same gift project, to another project, or to an unrestricted fund. Please be aware that donors WILL NOT receive a tax deduction for any funds raised at the Reunion dinner or through a solicitation sponsored by the Reunion Committee.
