Register for challenging courses and do your best in them
Take the PSAT in October (even if you took it in 10th grade) for potential scholarships
Check out scholarships in the Career Resource Center so you are prepared for your senior year. Be aware that there are scholarships available to all high school students, not just seniors
Review the SAT & ACT online to determine which test is better for you, take the sample tests and see which one you do better on
Visit the Career Resource Center for the latest information on jobs, scholarships, colleges and program information
Attend the NFA College Fair – be prepared with questions and a list of schools you are interested in
Attend your SEOP (parents invited) during the second semester to review your course selection and your plans for the future, discuss colleges or programs you would like to visit to learn more about
Double-check your senior year course schedule to make sure you are not leaving anything out and you are meeting the graduation and admission requirements for the schools and/or programs you are interested in. Be sure to maintain or increase the level of difficulty of your schedule for your senior year – don’t slack off!
Visit the colleges you are most interested in (Spring Break is a perfect time to do this), be sure to send a thank you card to those who show you around the campus
Look into pre-college programs for the summer online and in the career resource
