We are now in Managua at Maria Esther's families beautiful farm! We have moved into her brother’s house for our last day in Nicaragua. It is much, much hotter now that we are off the Kilambe mountain range. We are grateful to have an air conditioner in our room, but still no hot water! We drove about an hour so that we could buy gifts to bring home. We enjoyed the native artisans beautiful crafts. There were numerous handmade pieces made from pottery and wood, woven hammocks and pocketbooks, oil paintings with bright vibrant colors depicting the people and the scenery.... Luckily for our husbands back home we had little time to shop as we arrived so late that the stores were closing quickly! We did however manage to do some quick damage!! We then drove to a town on the river where we could see the evening lights of Guatemala, how lovely. We had a traditional Spanish inspired meal and headed back to Managua for much needed rest. We will head to the airport in the am to come home!
