The NFA Parent Council is committed to the mutual support and growth of the Academy community - meeting the needs of the students and their families - enriching ourselves and encouraging our children to strive for success in their individual goals. This is accomplished through various resources and opportunities set forth in our guiding principles.
Once again the NFA Parent Council has reached its financial goal and will fund two $250 scholarships and sending close to 400 students to the post prom party at the Sub base in Groton. There has been a lot of fund raising this year which has fallen on the shoulders of a very few. Next year we again will try to get more people involved in the educational portion of the parent council along with the fund raising.
I would like to thank all the people that helped run the various activities and all of you that came out and supported us in other ways.
The Council's most noteworthy achievement is to organize, promote, and fund raise for the Alcohol and Drug Free Post-Prom Party provided to graduating seniors and their guests. Also noteworthy is that the Parent Council provides scholarships to graduating seniors. Having diversified in many areas, the goals remain to support "our kids". Parents from any sending town are invited to become involved with the Parent Council and share in the education of their children.
The 2010-11 elections have been finalized. Doug Barlow will remain the President, Dan Leclair remains the Vice President, Wendy Leclair will become the secretary and Rod Molleur is now the Treasurer.
Thanks,
Doug Barlow

Please attend our meeting and learn about the Parent Council. We are looking for hard working parents to support our efforts.
NFA students need your assistance and the NFA Parent Council needs your help. The Parent Council meetings consist of 13 to 18 parents per month. NFA has a student body of 2521 with less than 1% participation from families on the Parent Council. Furthermore, very few of these parents have children who are seniors, the students who benefit most from the council's work. Communications between parents, staff, teachers and department heads have been enhanced by the monthly speakers at our meetings. Please feel free to attend a monthly meeting and join the NFA Parent Council.
